GOVERNMENT

Vermilion Parish is governed by the Vermilion Parish Police Jury who is responsible for providing administrative services to the Parish. Its purpose is to idenditfy and clarify the needs of the people, and ensure the Parish responds to those needs. the jury executes all legislative power authorized including, but not limited to adopting and enacting the budget, appropriation of exenditures and setting policy. Other powers include establishing fees and comprehensive use plans, and conducting public hearings and meetings.
